So... what's new on the web in 2026?

I love this topic, it is cool as shit.

To understand how web apps work and how to hack at them and secure them is to understand how the world operates.

We are all trying to understand how to bottle our curiosity and foster the right kinds of minds in the era of AI.

It's interesting and scary out there.

But the call to action in this defcon talk has me a little inspired.

They are begging us to use this stuff for the blue team. Because it's offensive skills are scary good.

My grounded anchor

I want your lives to be improved by being a part of this.

So I try to imagine what life after a decade is going to be like for you.

Here is something I think you will face:

A client has vibed up a full-stack service and wants you to be responsible for securing it, they have a budget of $500k. How much security can you give them?

It's maybe a little silly. But I think there will be more and more stuff out there, and people will look to you without much understanding and an imagined budget. Your job is a human job, to provide them the assurance that they're protected.

Are they? What can you say? How to you tackle that?

Rough Plan

• Gotta learn the basics, how to host stuff, how websites work.
• Gotta learn the basic exploits that will be attempted.
• Gotta learn how to frame this stuff into business friendly terms.
• Gotta know how to think on your feet.
• Gotta be the useful one and not a buck-passer.
